There are 3 bore-holes in the village. One at the high school has a hand pump, and supplies most of the orphans' houses, the schools and some private houses in the area. The children fill 20 litre jerry cans and carry them back to their houses, several hundred metres. The one at the farm school also has a hand pump, but will probalby get an electric pump when the new electricity supply is in place. It is used a lot, as the cattle, pigs and hens also need water. The bore hole at the mission houses has an electric pump, and water from a storage tank is piped to the two mission houses, a couple of the teacher's houses and a stand pipe where children from Lion and White Angels houses can collect water.
